Mike Nordby has been a licensed insurance agent since 2008 and is the Owner & Principal Agent at Modern Insurance Services. Prior to founding Modern Insurance, he spent time as a captive insurance agent with Country Financial.

Mike grew up not far from Detroit Lakes in Dilworth, Minnesota and earned degrees from University of Minnesota-Crookston (Early Childhood Program Management) and Minnesota State University Moorhead (Elementary Education). Prior to joining the insurance industry, Mike taught third grade at Glyndon-Felton Elementary.

Mike currently lives in Detroit Lakes with his wife Amy and four children. Away from work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as doing anything outdoors and staying active.
